The reason for Rose Noble's inclusion in this episode was just to just tick yet another RTD LGBTQ box. As you said Ellie, no other purpose was served.

I really despised Morris. The writing was extremely cheap comedy and unfortunately I think the delivery was very bland. Plus it added nothing to the story for me at all, could have been left on the cutting room floor.

I’m still hoping for the trickster theory, maybe the trickster and sutekh made a deal where sutekh can take the tardis and cause chaos for them to both feed off. Mrs flood could potentially be a harbinger for either the trickster or ruby, Mrs flood could also be the real Susan using the chameleon arch. I think ruby could be the god/pantheon of birth and obvo the opposite and key to defeating sutekh. If ruby is a pantheon she could conjure a snowstorm to fight the sandstorm we see in the teasers. And What happens after a storm? flooding! 👀 These are just my current theory brain ramblings, I guess we just gotta wait it out.

Why is it that my theories about what the show will do next always come to nothing, whereas other people's theories always turn out to be bang on the money? In the run up to the 60th anniversary, I was convinced that River Song would meet 14 without realising that he was a separate incarnation to 10, hence her confusion when he doesn't recognise her in The Library, and that 14 would end up deliberately triggering his regeneration so that he could siphon off some of the energy into Donna in order to stop her mind burning when she remembered him, but that all ended up amounting to nothing. Meanwhile, the theories doing their rounds on the internet that The Doctor would change back into David Tennant for the 60th anniversary and that he and Ncuti Gatwa would split into 2 separate doctors both turned out to be correct, and now this episode has validated both the theory that Susan Twist would play Susan Foreman (even if The Doctor ultimately turned out to be wrong about that) and the theory that Sutekh would be the main villain in the finale, whilst simultaneously debunking the theories that I had that Mrs Flood was just an older version of a side character that The Doctor would meet in one of his adventures in the mid 20th century, with the actual big reveal being that he'd changed his own future by saving Ruby from the goblins and had never had said adventure in the original timeline, and that Ruby was in fact a future version of Rose Noble, who would end up leaving her future self outside the church (although the episode did at least acknowledge the main thing that drew me to that conclusion, namely that they both have names that are associated with the colour red)

Blue Yonder and the Giggle gave us enough latitude to hand wave away any logical inconsistencies or unconformably consequential moments. Ret conning and the disruption of the laws of causality have entered the building.

The Doctor has mentioned being a father many times--it was even a point in Boom, so the "not yet" might be another case of time being out of sync.

I have a theory about Susan. First off, I think she is truly good. She’s just being possessed by Sutekh. In fact, I believe she may actually be … Susan Foreman. Now, here me out. The Doctor added new info when explaining regeneration to Ruby. He said time lords can use regeneration as a disguise. Why add that if you’re not going to use it? So here’s my theory: As Susan lived her life, she began to use her exceptional scientific knowledge to develop technology to benefit mankind. At some point early on (1975?) she finds it necessary to disguise herself as a human ala Smith and Jones. She develops a successful company and becomes well known. Three months ago things began to change, the Sutekh possession only beginning. She changes her company name. She begins having nightmares. All along she prepares for the release of her software to benefit mankind. (Sutekh likely plans to use this for evil). After the Doctor somehow gets through this crisis, Susan is released from the possession. The Doctor figures out she is Susan but is hiding in a chameleon arch. He releases her, and she “regenerates” into Carole Ann Ford. What do you think?

I though morris was older than 13. Thought he was just saying he graduated at 13 but was older. Having a 13 yr old working for a dangerous organisation like unit without his mum being there to supervise is just odd.

It's a two-part finale. We don't know what these new characters might do because the story's not done yet. And the Vlinx is just cool and randomly hating on him just seems pretty.

Carla said it was the beast in the time window and the unit soldier said he was in Hell and that's when I realised the "twist". Harbringer of death, literally, the god of death.

I think the crying may be used so much this season to show the progression from the doctor being in a healthier state post-14 having stepped away from the turbulence that come with being The Doctor to him closing off again and becoming more stoic/unable to deal with the emotions so they just get stuffed away until they explode again like with previous incarnations. They set it up in Rogue at the end when Ruby was trying to talk to The Doctor about what happened and he just shrugged it off until she made him confront what he felt by hugging him. I think it could be an arc of him being in a healthier emotional state to relying on old patterns of behaviors/coping, to something in the middle. I don’t personally mind the crying particularly because until this season The Doctor’s go to was anger, but I do think it could be something more than just Ncuti’s great at crying so let’s put that in there as much as possible.

I was blown away by Morris's actor (and at such a young age!) Bit weird the Doctor forgot about his accidental daughter Jenny (even though she's incorrectly presumed dead, and isn't [so far as we know] the mother of Susan)

I think Luke Smith who we know who works for unit would have made more sense as Sarah Jane was the companion back in pyramids of Mars. I think the door is open for all companions in modern day to be agents for unit. I liek the idea building the unit family. Osgood and Shirley obviously on a break atm

Ok, two points. 1) RTD needs to keep his own cannon straight, as 10th Doctor spoke about having Children to Donna in "The Doctors Daught" 2) I'd say the Time Window is more sofisticated that a Holodeck, as the former opens a window into a specific Space/Time location where the former creates environments from force fields and holograms...

It's strange that you're surprised on crying and giving up from the 15th. It's not the Doctor, it's Eric from Sex Education. Of course he'll give up every single time. Of course, he whines and cries all the time. It's what he does.

Some quick scattered thoughts: - I enjoyed it but it felt very disconnected and a bit convenient in terms of plot threads & I'm really hoping there's going to an "ohhhhh THATS WHAT WE MISSED" moment either next week or next season with whatever isnt resolved. I feel like we've spent too little time with the Doctor/Ruby or any plot this season. - On that... RTD mentioned the Bells of St John as one of his recommended watches for before the finale. That ep brought Missy in a full half season before we ever saw her & a full season and a half before we found out she was the lady in the shop who brought 11 & Clara together. I'm hoping thats a subtle clue that whatever isn't resolved (probably Mrs F) is playing out in a similar way. - They obviously havent addressed any of how Sutekh reappeared or how that plays into salt near the edge of the universe. I'm wondering whether the villains in WBY were actually also gods & that leads to the Toymaker (I think pretty accepted by fans at this point). However, I'm wondering if that plays into the TARDIS being taken over as it was split by the Toymakers hammer. We dont have an explanation yet for the groans & how Sutekh has taken it over. Maybe because it was split by magic he was able to break in and use it to get out of his time prison? I think the end of the Flux arc is probably going to be worked in too. I forget who the Ravagers try and release but isn't it vaguely the idea of chaos trapped on a physical embodiment of Time? That felt very allusive and unresolved (outside of the impending regeneration). - Similarly, there's a lot of good funny "Where is 14" memes. I'm also wondering if he'll be killed off off screen to resolve that plot issue and raise the stakes, but also so they can destroy 15s TARDIS. I feel like a lot of next week might be 15 trying to get back to the other OG TARDIS after his is destroyed and completely taken over. - Lastly, firmly sticking my flag in the Mrs F is the Rani camp.

When ruby’s “mother” pointed at the doctor it gave me massive chills & trickster vibes especially with the cloak

Because everything this season has not been scary, I let my 3yo watch this episode with me because I couldn't wait to watch it. When I realized it was gonna be scary images, I tried to get her away and I even turned it off, but she was hooked. I expected nightmares, but nope. She likes spooky things. 🤷‍♀️

THEORY: The gods mentioned by Harriet Arbinger were regular aliens who came to earth. The humans saw and called them gods, and tied powers to them. However, they didn't actually have these powers. Because of the salt spreading at the edge of a universe, the toymakers magic and fiction becoming reality, they in turn got the powers they were spoken to have. Thus, they become gods. As well as this, I believe that Mrs Flood is Incensor, god of disaster. A, her name is FLOOD, as in the natural disaster. B, she knew of Sutekh's return with the words, "He waits no more," and a god like Incensor would know about their boss making his big return.

I kind of love the whole thing that they subverted expectations or played on people’s theories in every aspect of the episode, even down to the music (Murray Gold using the Master’s theme near the end). Even the scene with the Time Window, I’ve seen at least one reaction video of people going, “Oh yeah, they’re using the good old “Volume” A.R. Wall tech again. But, it’s actually just a big curtain with rear-projection beamed onto it.😂👏

What if Ruby is Susan? It would pull back in the misdirect when no one was still looking for it. Depending on the current definition of time lord abilities (and whatever powers a mother or grandmother would add to the mix), it could even explain the snow during heightened emotional moments.

So theres been a next up released and the doctor says to rubys mother; I swear on both the heatts of the last time lord that I. Will. Defeat you.

I believe the doctors name is time because the doctor is basically what time is no fetch point time is anywhere anywhere so I’ve I believe that the doctor name is time because time doesn’t have any master any controlling power the doctor is basically that the doctor is just a loose canon that runs about and does whatever he wants and rarely does he ever have consequences so I believe the doctor name is time

15:02 I think it's kind of unfair to criticise that you didn't know if the dustcloud was happening on the tape or in real time, when that was exactly the point. Even Kate asked that specific question and the Doctor said he doesn't know. I loved the episode but I have two more downs: 1) Kate not knowing about Susan - when Clara entered the Black Archive with Kate, Kate explains that every companion was taken to the Black Archive or somehow observed. And on the board, we see Susan's photo. 2) The characters randomly figuring out the Ruby's mother and Susan Triad could be connected and it actually being true. It just felt like the characters know that they're in the season finale and these are the two main threads so they obviously need to be connected somehow.

This version of Sutekh reminded me of Uncle Deadly of the Muppet Show

I really hope that if Susan does return (either in Empire of Death or some other time in the future), as long as Carole Ann Ford is alive and well enough to act, they will use her and not recast her.
